Take only what regrows
Many Nepali medicine plants are disappearing because every last one gets dug up. There is a way to gather that leaves the plant alive.
How to do it
- 01
Never take a plant that is flowering or carrying seed — that one is making next year.
- 02
Take leaves or bark, not the whole root, whenever the medicine allows it.
- 03
Leave at least two out of every three plants standing.
- 04
Move to a different patch each season so no place is stripped bare.
- 05
Ask an elder how it was gathered before. They usually know the rule already.
