Save seeds

Seeds are a plant’s way of sending itself into the future. Collecting and sharing them costs nothing at all.

How to do it

  1. 01

    Wait until the fruit or pod is completely ripe and dry on the plant.

  2. 02

    Collect a few — never all of them. Birds and the plant itself need the rest.

  3. 03

    Dry the seeds in shade, not direct sun.

  4. 04

    Store them in a paper envelope with the name and the date written on it.

  5. 05

    Give half away. Seeds in one box can be lost; seeds in ten homes cannot.
